"I approached Hannah when I decided to train for my first Ironman 70.3 - which I knew would be a race that would require me to fuel slightly differently than any of my previous races due to the length of time I would be on my feet. I have always fuelled
myself with gels and electrolyte drinks but getting the best out of my training and setting myself up in the best possible way on race day, meant that I wanted to understand my diet more. I have always eaten quite healthy (I thought).
I found Hannah to be very knowledgeable and insightful, taking her time to explain to me what the benefits are of the different food groups but also being very honest with me from the start. I needed this type of approach, because the reality is I am a very busy working mum and there is only so much additional effort I can put in when it comes to working out food plans!
She helped me create a plan which allowed me to make some small but effective changes and allowed me to relax a bit more around carbohydrates - which I think is a massive issue athletes face when trying to increase their training but not necessarily increase their weight!
Hannah has a wealth of knowledge - not only as a nutritionist but also having competed in triathlon herself, so she really knows what is required. She also understands the challenges of daily life and is able to offer a more realistic and sustainable approach.
As a result, I had an amazing first ironman 70.3 where my fuelling and nutrition on race day was spot on!.”

I was training for a 100km ultra race when I realised that my usual diet wasn’t working to support all the training I was doing. I was regularly running 50+ miles a week and trying to get by on a normal diet because I didn’t see myself as an athlete or even someone who was particularly active and needed to eat differently. I struggled with the ideas of eating more carbs and because I was technically overweight, the idea of eating more. Unsurprisingly this was leaving me exhausted, shaky and struggling to complete my runs.
Hannah helped immensely, in re-educating my brain around the differences between a typical healthy, everyday diet and the nutrients and energy needs for women who are very active. As someone who grew up in the “carbs are evil” era, this took some doing but she explained how carbs are utilised by the body around activity and that increasing them would fuel not harm me. We also talked about weight, muscle mass and BMI and how fuelling was still important even if wanting to or feeling that you needed to lose weight.
Once I stated following Hannah’s suggestions, I saw a huge difference in my running but more importantly how I felt generally day to day too. I also saw food differently – as fuel and nutrients that would nourish my body, and stopped worrying that my BMI was an issue. In a way Hannah gave me permission to eat more due to her expertise and how much I trusted her advice. She is a beacon of evidence-based information amongst all the voices telling us to cut foods and not eat back exercise calories. I completed the race with ease (well, as much as 100km can be easy) as I fuelled well and never ran out of energy, and have continued to follow her advice ever since.

“About two years ago, I was struggling with a reflux condition that required me to follow a low-acid diet. While I was managing to stick to the dietary restrictions, I was feeling low on
energy and unsure about how to safely get back into exercise. That’s when I reached out to
Hannah for support.
From the beginning, Hannah was incredibly approachable and easy to talk to. We discussed my goals and the areas I wanted to improve, both in terms of energy and fitness. She started by asking me to keep a detailed food diary, including portion weights, for four days. This alone was an eye-opening experience.
Once I shared the information, Hannah provided a thorough analysis of my diet. She identified what was working well and highlighted areas where I could make improvements. Even though I was eating healthily, I learned that I needed to increase my protein intake, and Hannah gave me practical suggestions tailored to my preferences.
After following her advice for just two weeks, I felt significantly more energised. We also developed an exercise plan together, based on activities I enjoyed while still pushing me gently outside my comfort zone. The plan was manageable, motivating, and easy to stick to.
Throughout the process, Hannah provided consistent encouragement and motivational support, which made all the difference. Since then, I regularly reach out to her for advice, as her insight and guidance continue to be absolutely invaluable. Working with Hannah has been a truly positive experience, and I’m so grateful for the knowledge and energy she’s helped me build and sustain.”
